The Guildmistress: Meet the Cast!

Ambra holds a great power, and that makes her valuable to exactly the wrong kind of people. Because of that, she’s spent a lot of her life lying to survive from one day to another. For her enemies, she’s a walking nightmare, capable of dismantling their plans seven different ways before they know she’s there. For her friends, she’s a selfless comrade and, more often than not, accidentally a leader.

Thera considers it her duty to protect those in danger, and she’s dang good at it. For Thera, fighting is a last resort, but it’s one she’ll gladly reach if she has to. You’d be hard-pressed to find a friend more loyal than Thera, though her loyalty is not built on blind faith. More than her physical strength, Thera’s great power comes from her commitment to seeing deliver their best and thrive.

Ambra’s older sister, Marina was forced to work against Ambra for a long time before a courageous rescue broke a vicious cycle.

Marina possesses the innate ability to travel back in time, but she can only carry herself when she does so, leaving behind a universe without her in it. And, as Ambra will tell you, any universe without a Marina is way worse by default.

Patience serves in the court of Bahamut, king of dragons and generally cool dude. They were sent to help Ambra Prime to take down a horrendously evil scheme, which is still a work in progress.

Patience bears considerable humility considering their power and authority. They recently discovered that their soul is innately drawn to Ambra’s, which is convenient for a number of reasons.

In attempt to restore balance and weed out a super-sucky dude, this Ambra agreed to give up part of her soul and act as an agent of wickedness for centuries. It was a terrible cost to pay, but as Patience has reminded her, it was a necessary one.

Though she bears many similarities to our protagonist, Ambra Prime carries the weight of her deeds in her heart and soul. She is assured that she has her friends’ forgiveness, but she still feels compelled to make things better.

Pren is an ingenious mage with a knack for coming up with uses for her craft that no one has devised before. Her ex-girlfriend was the former guildmistress, Naomi, before that version of her was consumed as part of the evil scheme mentioned above. Since then, she has a hard time opening her heart to love, but she might change that for the right person.

Human Mage (Destruction)

Xandra is rarely seen without her best friend, Odette, and if she is, it’s probably because she’s busy in the kitchen. While Xandra enjoys destruction magic, her heart is in making baked goods for her friends and helping everyone feel more at home and at ease.

Odette is, by her own admission, a crummy academic. She loves illusion magic and the challenges it presents, and she loves helping others improve their skills in the craft, but has no love for the tedious stamp collecting exercises that are expected of a Head Illusion Mage at a Mages’ Guild. Then again, after her dads rented out her room back home, she didn’t have any other choice, so she might as well keep doing the thing that gives her a roof over her head and lets her spend time with Xandra.

When Patience and Ambra went to confront the Red Dragon, things didn’t go according to plan. To endure a wave of fire, they had to perform an emergency fusion of their beings. The neat thing is, they were both totally cool with it, and now they’re a single person! Pambra isn’t Patience and Ambra sharing a body; they’re the person that is both Ambra and Patience. And they’re great!
